In the heart of New Cairo, a blend of concrete, wood, and stone shapes the space of this two-bedroom apartment, designed by the Paris-based practice atelier_dais

In collaboration with moma.eg , the space is curated with signature furniture pieces, matching the project’s artisanal skills.

The key to the design lies in its details: invisible folding doors allow for room expansion when needed a bed’s headboard functions as a partition; and the boundaries between door and wardrobe are blurred when both are seamlessly integrated into a single wall.

A custom-made kitchen showcases a refined balance between natural materials and thoughtful craftsmanship. The oak panels bring warmth and texture to the space, while the brass details on the island and fixtures introduce a sense of cohesion and understated luxury.

The design is elevated by the incorporation of rounded corners on the cabinetry, which break away from the rigidity of traditional geometric forms. These subtle curves soften the overall layout, creating a natural flow that feels both contemporary and approachable.

The bedroom design highlights a custom-crafted bed that merges aesthetics with practicality. The centerpiece is a curved oak headboard that functions both as a design feature and a subtle room divider (paravent). This dual-purpose element introduces a sculptural quality while maintaining a seamless connection with the space.

The headboard combines vertical wooden slats and smooth oak panels, creating a dynamic interplay of textures. The use of warm oak adds natural character, complemented by rounded upholstery that softens the overall geometry. Integrated brass and black fixtures on either side of the bed provide functional lighting and storage, ensuring that every detail serves both form and purpose.

Opposite the bed, a seamless carpentry composition unifies the bedroom door, dressing doors, drawers, and an AC unit into a cohesive and functional design. The warm oak finish reflects the material palette of the bed, creating a consistent connection across the space, while clean lines, concealed handles, and precise detailing eliminate visual clutter. This thoughtful integration maximizes functionality and enhances the room’s sense of order and tranquility.
