With backgrounds in documentary and photojournalism, Georges and Samuel developed a profound passion for architecture, design, and urban planning. They believe in the importance of studying and documenting the built environment and its impact on society. This conviction led them to focus their practice on documentary architectural photography. Their work includes documenting iconic projects such as Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye, Couvent Sainte-Marie de La Tourette, and Unité d’Habitation, in collaboration with La Cité Radieuse in Marseille. They were also commissioned by Dar Arafa Architecture to photograph La Maison d’Égypte in Paris—designed by Dar Arafa & Sam Architecture—first in November 2023 before its occupation, and again in May 2024 for a post-occupancy evaluation alongside Egyptian architect Waleed Arafa. In addition, they have extensively documented the Grand Egyptian Museum, capturing its development and transformation into one of the most significant cultural landmarks in the world.
Since 2020, Georges & Samuel Mohsen have been working on a long-term research project centered on the Chapel of Collège De La Salle, in collaboration with architect Daniel Kaldas. The project combines architecture research, archival processing, and visual documentation to explore the chapel’s unique design within the broader context of Egypt’s history, identity, and sociopolitical shifts during the Nasser era. As part of this work, they are preserving rare original drawings by Antoine Selim Nahas, Dimitri Diacomidos, and Seddik Shehab El Din.
