A Mediterranean Coastal Spirit

Carlo’s Restaurant in Almaza Bay combines modern Mediterranean elegance with a relaxed coastal spirit. Designed by Rami Soussou and brought to life by Three Pillars, the space captures the essence of seaside dining through a balance of refined architecture, natural materials, and playful accents.

Architectural Rhythm

The exterior is marked by a facade of vertical wooden slats that soften the crisp white volumes of the building. This rhythmic screen adds warmth while filtering natural light into the interior, creating a dialogue between openness and enclosure.

The Bar as a Focal Point

Inside, the bar becomes the focal point, its surface clad in pastel green 3D tiles that introduce depth and tactility. Behind it, organic cutouts in the shelving wall frame bottles and glassware like curated displays, while woven rattan pendants overhead lend a handcrafted, coastal touch.

The outdoor terrace extends seamlessly, with neutral-toned tables and chairs in beige, taupe, and grey. Their minimal design ensures comfort and durability while keeping focus on the architectural details. A custom green wall sconce with a spherical bulb provides a subtle accent, tying the palette together.

Colors and Atmosphere

The overall design language draws from its seaside context, combining soft neutrals of beige and off-white with natural wood tones that bring warmth and rhythm, while pastel green accents at the bar and lighting introduce freshness and vitality.

These tones are grounded by matte greys and taupes, with black details adding definition and contrast. The result is an atmosphere that feels sophisticated yet relaxed, in tune with the easy rhythm of Almaza Bay. Carlo’s is a place where design, material, and light work quietly together to create a welcoming coastal setting.
